I thought it would be fun to keep in touch with you while we are in Englewood, Florida during the month of January. Englewood is about 1 1/2 hours south of Tampa and is the home of my brother, Roger and his wife, Lee Ann.   We arrived today at about 1:00 pm.  Please know that I am not flaunting the fact that we are in warm weather because we are fully aware of what Iowa will probably be like when we return on February 1st!!  We just wanted to keep in touch since we miss you all!!  We took this picture to show you that we had no snow in Le Mars, Iowa on Dec. 29th (right before we left for Florida).  We were experiencing 50-55 degree temps.

This was taken outside a MacDonalds near St. Louis, MO.  Still no snow!! I actually started out with four layers but by the second day, I was down to just three!!  We spent the night just  south of St. Louis.

We found Tennesee to be so breathtakingly beautiful.  I snapped pictures one after another as David was driving.  This is a wonderful place to praise God for his beauty.  We commented over and over on diverse the United States really is.

Here's another!  See what I mean about breathtaking??

David agreed to pose near a palm tree in front of hotel in Valdosta, GA.  Now I am down to two layers!!

As we left Georgia this morning we experienced some fog but there wasn't too much traffic since last night was New Year's Eve.  We had a peaceful drive as we entered Florida.  We were just thanking God that we were experiencing all of His blessings of beauty.

We arrived in Englewood, FL (south of Tampa) at about 1:00 pm.  This was taken outside our little place that we rented for the month.  I am down to one layer now--but not for long!!  This evening a jacket was definitely needed.

We have a boat slip that comes with our unit but no boat!  No matter!!  We will just plain enjoy the outdoors.  We brought our bikes and we hope to do some kayaking.

Dave and I enjoyed dinner outside with Roger and Lee Ann.  They showed us around Englewood so we could get our bearings when we set out on our own.  It was so good to see them today because this only happens once a year!!

We would love to hear from you so feel free to post a comment or send us an email at kahorken@premieronline.net

Love, Dave and Karol
