Snippets From The Horken House

David and I brought our bikes in hopes of getting a lot of exercise during the winter (for a change!)

We have ridden to MacDonalds a couple of times.  It's a short distance and since the weather isn't exactly hot (or even warm)---that's as far as we have gone!

The second day (when it was in the high 40's) we drove (the car) to our local beaches.  We hope to take advantage of some sun time when it warms up (which should be this weekend)!! 

On Monday the water was rather calm but as you can see the beach is empty.  Too cold for sunning!!

This is Lee Ann.  (Our sister-in-law) She works at an Ice Cream shop one afternoon a week.  She loves visiting with the tourists and is full of information of what to do in Florida.  Thanks Lee Ann for all the advice!!

 Yesterday we drove up the coast to Venice.  Roger and Lee Ann suggested that we go to this area.  We watched the waves crash in as it was very windy.  I have my "five layers" on again today!!  It was really a fun day, however.  We parked the car and walked in and out of the shops in downtown Venice.  That was really fun.  It's a wonderful place to draw the tourists!  And draw us---it did!!

Today we found a spot  (our patio) where the sun was beating down.  It actually got too hot which we enjoyed very much.  We sat and read until we couldn't stand it any more.  It actually felt very good!!
